Terms of use

Last updated 2026-09-03

These are the terms for using fomo. fomo is an app for making real-world plans with friends, and it’s currently in friends-and-family beta. Expect rough edges, and expect these terms to get more formal before we open to the public. By using fomo, you agree to what’s below. If you don’t, please don’t use it.

Using fomo

You can use fomo to create plans, invite people, RSVP, and chat about the plan. Use it for its purpose and be decent to the people you’re planning with. You’re responsible for what you post and for the plans you host.

Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use fomo. By using it, you’re confirming you meet that minimum age. The app asks for your date of birth at signup to check this, and we may suspend or delete any account we believe belongs to someone under 13.

Your content

What you post stays yours: plan details, chat messages, photos. You give us permission to store and show it to the people you shared it with, so fomo can do its job. Don’t post anything illegal, abusive, or that isn’t yours to share. We may remove content or accounts that break these terms or harm other people.

What is not allowed

Do not use fomo to do any of the following. The list is not exhaustive: if it would get you asked to leave a room, it is not allowed here either.

  • Break the law, or organize, promote, or carry out anything that would.
  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or bully anyone, or target them for who they are.
  • Post sexual content involving a minor, or approach a minor in any sexual or romantic way. Our child safety standards apply to everything on fomo, private chats included.
  • Post or share intimate images of anyone without their consent.
  • Impersonate a person, a crew, or fomo, or misrepresent who you are or who you are with.
  • Share someone’s private information, such as a home address or phone number, without their consent.
  • Post content you do not have the right to share.
  • Spam people with invites, friend requests, or messages they did not ask for.
  • Scrape, automate, or probe fomo, work around a block, or interfere with the service or with other people’s use of it.
  • Create accounts to get around a suspension, or sell or hand off an account.

Reporting and enforcement

Every message and every profile has a Report control, and you can block anyone. Blocking cuts contact both ways, and we never tell the person they were reported or blocked. How we handle reports that involve a child is set out in our child safety standards.

If we believe you have broken these terms, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend or permanently remove your account, and decline to let you open another one, with or without notice. We preserve and hand over records only as described in our privacy policy, and we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as US law requires. If you think we got it wrong, email us at the address below.

Copyright

If you believe something on fomo infringes your copyright, email hello@joinfomo.app with a link to the content, a description of the work, and a way to reach you. We remove infringing content, and repeat infringers lose their accounts.

Plans are between people

fomo helps you coordinate, but the plans themselves are between you and the people you’re planning with. That means showing up, costs, splitting money, and safety. We’re not a party to your plans and aren’t responsible for what happens at them.

Beta and availability

Because fomo is in beta, it’s provided “as is.” We can’t promise it will always be available, bug-free, or that data will never be lost, and we may change or pause features while we build. We’re not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from using a beta product.

Ending your use

You can stop using fomo any time, and delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by asking us (see our Privacy page). We can suspend or end access for accounts that break these terms.

Changes and contact

We’ll update these terms as fomo grows and will change the “last updated” date above when we do. Questions? Email hello@joinfomo.app.
